MARK'S STORY 

Mark Thorson grew up on a farm in northeast Kansas and attended Ottawa (KS) University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1979. His ceramic studio is located in an industrial area of Kansas City, Missouri. He still makes the 80-mile trek to the farm where he grew up to pit fire his work.

Over the past forty years, Mark has developed a line of decorative and functional stoneware pottery. His work has won numerous awards and has been displayed in both solo and group exhibitions across the country. He shows at juried art fairs throughout the United States.
